Good designers, in addition to being creative,
should also be editors and coordinators
As designers, we try to understand our clients' ideas, dreams and needs in order to express them in good aesthetics and a functional environment.
Our approach is to treat interiors the same way an actor treats each role; individually rather than playing the same part each time.
We work in contemporary and traditional styles, incorporating authentic and honest elements. Good design should not become dated, and as time passes we strive for our interiors to become more classic. We like to update past works to maintain a freshness and continuity.
We take pride in our detailing and planning of interior architectural elements such as lighting, built-in cabinets, space planning, finishes and backgrounds. Many of our assignments are designed in conjunction with the client's architects and builders.
STEPHEN TOMAR The true test of an innovator is his ability to set trends, rather than to follow them. Trends in interior design, like fashion, range from pret-a-porter to haute couture. When creating an interior environment, Stephen Tomar meticulously measures his clients' needs to provide them with form-fitting, one-of-a-kind designs. In many respects, he is a couturier for the home. Tomar approaches each project with the precise detail of a personal tailor, but with the broad vision of a full-scale design house. His sensibilities are classic, timeless and hewn with good taste and sophistication. "Anyone can buy style," Tomar points out, "but what I create for my clients is longer lasting and ageless. A home's interior should fit the owner like a comfortable pair of shoes. It is too costly to let a room sit because you do not like the way it feels or fits."

STUART LAMPERT First, there is Light. Then, there is Space. After that, it's the detail work that brings a room to life. For Stuart Lampert, its' the details that breathe life into his interiors. Everything from a room's window trimmings to its furnishings, fixtures and color palette are taken into thoughtful consideration as he creates the "look" and "feel" of a home. Working with an overall design scheme, most often developed in unison with his partner Stephen Tomar, Lampert is the partner responsible for selecting all finishes, including: textiles, wall coverings, furniture, fixtures and all the other niceties that bring a room to life. Lampert's design expertise is best illustrated through his use of colors, fabrics, and finishes. His projects have attracted a faithful following of celebrities and others who care deeply about their interior comforts. Clients have included Barbra Streisand, Johnny Carson, Valerie Bertinelli and Eddie Van Halen, Suzanne Pleshette and many other names of Beverly Hills, Bel Air and Hollywood fame. |
